Morning Session:
Visioning Your Ideal Center
Structured on the concepts set forth in the book, The Visionary Director
, 2nd Edition by Margie Carter and Deb Curtis, this workshop emphasizes the importance of creating a clear vision and how to use that vision as a guide when balancing a director's three roles: building and supporting community, managing and overseeing and coaching and mentoring.
Afternoon session:
Professional Interaction
Professionalism is defined in everything you say and do. It also impacts every decision you make. This workshop involves self-assessment and analysis of behaviors that may be undermining the director’s desire to be perceived as a professional.

Beyond Cribs & Rattles Training Series
The Infant Toddler Training Initiative is proud to announce our next training series,
Beyond Cribs & Rattles. The training is a six-part series, which will be offered on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. beginning June 8, 2011 and ending July 20, 2011. There will be no class on Wednesday, June 15. Participants must attend ALL sessions.
Due to the advanced level of this training participants must meet the following Prerequisites: Brain Research (2hrs), Shaken Baby/SIDS (2 hrs), and Infant/Toddler Appropriate Practices (10hrs).
Completed applications with supporting documentation may be returned by U.S. mail, fax, or email. The application deadline is Friday, May 20th at 4:30 p.m.

Brain Research Training Survey
As part of your School Readiness agreement, all staff are required to take the training Brain Research – Ages 0-5 (or Brain Research -School age, if applicable) within the last 5 years/July 2005. In an effort to better understand the need for those who still are not taken the training, the ELC has developed a short survey that we are asking you to complete no later than June 1, 2011. The survey can be found by clicking the following link: Brain Research Training Survey.
The following information will need to be provided:
- current number of staff at your site
- number of staff who have taken or are enrolled in Brain Research 0-5
- number of staff who have taken or are enrolled in Brain Research school age
- number of staff needing to take Brain Research 0-5
- number of staff needing to take Brain Research School age
Once the information has been received and the need determined, training dates for Brain Research will be scheduled to take place during the next six to nine months. Each site will be provided enough spaces for those listed on the survey as needing the training and must register in the trainings provided. As long as staff have registered and attend the identified trainings, your School Readiness agreement will remain in compliance. If a staff member is unable to meet the training requirement, your School Readiness agreement may be effected.
